REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Course Title
Virtual International Business Live Case
Collaboration Overview
We are seeking a live case study to be part of a new online experiential course (that replaced a cancelled international field study). Our students are rising juniors and seniors who have been exposed to a broad set of business courses as well as focused maritime business courses. This course will provide our students with a solid exposure to project management and this live case study competition will be the prime experience for the course where they will apply their background knowledge using newly acquired project management tools and techniques. Companies should participate to play a critical role in the education of these rising professional leaders and also to tap into a new pipeline of talent from a school with a record of preparing job-ready graduates. Due to the compressed nature of this course, we will require a clearly scoped challenge, a high degree of structure, and a high level of engagement. We expect the live case study to start immediately and ramp up during the duration of the four-week course. It would be ideal if the student teams could engage directly with your product or service as part of their experiential learning and use that as a springboard for creating their deliverable. We hope this live case will result in something more than an academic exercise. We'd like the champion to be a servant leader who plays an active role in the development of our students and teams and provides opportunity for feedback and revision of their work. We have tried to indicate a great number of industries and functions and welcome opportunities from any company. We look forward to working collaboratively to solve one of your problems while helping our students develop critical skills and mindsets.
Engagement Format: Live Case
Think "Hackathon" or Case Competition with a whole class of students! This learning format allows educators to deliver experiential learning to students at scale. Students are often split into groups to work on a live case (or a series of cases) from a real host company that directly relates to key learning objectives.
