Capstone – Project

Tackling loneliness and isolation by connecting kindred spirits for mutual support

A Collaboration Between

Project Synopsis

We are the most connected society in history, yet we are the most disconnected and isolated society in history. We launched Kindred Us to connect people to support one another, building a society of caring instead of a society of counting. We are tackling major societal issues such as obesity, chronic illness, addiction, coping with divorce, caregiver support, veteran transitions to civilian life, recidivism, and more. We are experimenting with marketing against specific verticals. We need to build a conversion funnel, develop a sales and partnership strategy including employer benefits, strategic brand alliances, non-profits and federal and state government. We also need a product road map to create a platform that facilitate people connecting and thriving with resources related to their specific journey.

Company Overview

Kindred Us is tackling feelings of isolation and loneliness, which have reached epidemic proportions. Today, the technology that connects us also contributes to feelings of loneliness and despair, as so many sites are filled with vitriolic interactions, social media curates everyone's seemingly fabulous life, and real, authentic relationships seem fewer than in the past, making it harder for each of us to contend with the real challenges we face on a daily basis. We believe that by connecting people with similar interest who are also on similar journeys, their empathy and mutual support will help them both achieve more through confidence, accountability, and empathy. The potential impact is massive, but some of the most critical areas we will be focusing on are: - Depression and anxiety - Obesity, diabetes and weight loss - Addiction including nicotine, alcohol and opioids - Coping with Divorce - Elder care and supporting widows and widowers - Veteran transitions - Recidivism - Challenges of being a caregiver - Chronic illness And many more. We are on a mission to connect people with purpose to support a more empathetic, happier and supportive society.
