| Overview | Together We Remember (TWR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by the grandson of four Holocaust survivors to empower the next generation of leaders to make “never again” a reality. Each year, TWR organizes a global campaign in local communities and on social media to commemorate atrocities past and present to make visible progress toward a world of “never again.” Through technology, education, dialogue, and organizing, we transform remembrance into action. Since our first vigil at Duke in 2012, we’ve trained over 100 community ambassadors who have engaged over 25,000 people and remembered over 180,000 victims of identity-based violence. In April 2018, we organized over 40 vigils across 8 countries - in high schools, universities, museums, houses of worship, public spaces, and on social media. This April, Genocide Awareness & Prevention Month, we have the chance to build an unprecedented global campaign to counter division, hatred, & violence - just when humanity needs it most. We’ve received $100K in advertising funding from Twitter to amplify our content and live-stream our events in every timezone across the globe. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will also offer our program to over 1,600 schools nationwide. |
