Capstone – Project

Online Educational/Vocational Mentorship for our Members

A Collaboration Between

Project Synopsis

We have 50 refugee community members who are currently being housed by us and are unable to attend workshops and classes which are normally provided at our community center. Our program is directed at creating autonomy and integration into Greece but we’re currently limited by the capacity to be able to get these members enrolled in online programs.

Our programs goals are to move our members towards
1) Connection and Inclusion
2) Personal interests and passion
3) Vocational and Educational goals

We’d like your students to build a pathway and support for our members to get online and also reach the wider refugee population throughout Greece while developing their vocational skills, personal interests and partnering together for connection and inclusion.

Success indicators: Each member…

  • has a well-fortified virtual support network
  • is pursuing their personal interests growing from a hobby to a passion
  • has the ability to be self-generating on vocational/educational platforms and can follow along on their own

Company Overview

Safe Place International, is a US registered 501c3 non-profit organization whose core mission is to protect and empower doubly marginalized refugees around the world by creating a framework of safety and sustainability for the people we serve. SPI's main objectives are: - Support grassroots organizations in providing necessary provisions, such as food and housing, to ensure safety and well-being. - Support grassroots organizations in mental health and trauma first aid and harm mitigation. - Encourage asylum community involvement, online, and in-person with larger communities to support integration. - Provide education & vocational training to empower community members and ensure sustainable employment opportunities.   SPI envisions a world where every human being is celebrated for the unique gifts they bring. A world where sexual orientation, race, gender, class, religious orientation, physical or mental ability, and country of birth no longer separate us; a world where the recognition that the survival of our species and the planet as a whole is directly dependent on how we love and care for the most vulnerable among us.
