Capstone – Project

Small Business Technical Assistance Combined with Covid-19 Impact Survey Capstone Summer2020

A Collaboration Between

Project Synopsis

The project will combine Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s membership objectives for growth and engagement on our digital platform (The Brooklyn App) , alongside collecting date and compiling a report on Covid impact on businesses that we can use for reporting purposes, grant requests etc. and that can be the product of the student’s capstone.

We would start first week by working with the students to develop a survey/ instrument to collect the data on covid impact on small businesses and training in talking points.

Students would then reach out to chamber members who are not on the app (still the majority) and offer to walk them through the onboarding process, while at the same time engaging them around their Covid experience. We will use these interactions to check contact data against what we have as a check on data integrity, as well. We believe this brief verbal survey will yield a better response rate when combined with an outreach to provide technical assistance.
