CapSource also unveiled a new online platform that makes it easier than ever for higher ed institutions to connect their classes to real companies.

CapSource Education (http://www.capsource.io), an EdTech startup that connects higher education programs with real companies in order to enhance experiential learning offerings, celebrated the launch of its new online platform today during the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) Live Business Case Competition in New Orleans. Based out of NYU’s StartEd EdTech Incubator in Brooklyn, NY, CapSource connects real companies with students enrolled in higher education programs through hands-on, project-based learning engagements. CapSource helps educators tailor the collaborations to match their students’ competencies and learning goals.

CapSource’s mission is to facilitate project-based learning, preparing students for the “real world” while providing companies with free access to fresh ideas and talent. The engagements are designed to give students exposure to business challenges, real companies, and the professional work environment prior to graduation. CapSource offers a variety of experiential learning formats, including Site Visits, Live Business Cases, and Capstone Projects, all of which vary in duration and depth.

The new CapSource platform and directory makes the process of matching companies with instructors and their courses seamless. Now, professors and program directors can save time on curriculum development and host company lead management. Companies who use CapSource also have early access to top MBA and undergraduate students, which facilitates networking and recruitment prior to graduation.

Jordan Levy, Executive Director of CapSource, is a serial entrepreneur and has founded other successful ventures in the education technology space.

“I’m committed to making it easy for education programs to set up student projects with real companies, thus maximizing the student learning experience by making it more realistic and engaging. Our mission is to help bridge the skills gap between higher education and the professional work environment through experiential learning. Through our hands-on collaborations, our students develop soft skills, practice critical thinking, gain industry exposure, and develop real professional relationships with innovative companies and their management teams,” says Jordan Levy.

As part of its launch, CapSource coordinated a Live Business Case Competition held during the 2018 IACBE Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting. Participating student teams were tasked with helping ClassPulse, a startup disrupting college course evaluation process, assess their product feature roadmap and revenue model in order to set goals for the upcoming year. They will present their recommendations to a panel of judges, including several of the company’s key executives.

Rochelle Petway, IACBE’s Director of External Affairs, said, “We contracted CapSource this year to make the case competition more engaging and more relevant for our students than ever before. IACBE believes in education that follows a ‘Learn, Apply, Experience’ framework and we feel that by integrating a real company challenge into the competition this year, we’re able to set a positive example for our global membership when it comes to the type of exciting, hands-on professional development and learning that we want to see them do throughout their curricula.”
