For the past 6 years, we’ve been working with thousands of educators across 200+ global academic institutions who regularly share feedback about ways we can improve our tool and scale our offering so we can reach more students and train them for their careers more effectively.

We consistently hear how challenging it is for educators to incorporate “Live Cases” or synchronous projects with industry partners into their course curriculum. Aligning company goals with student learning objectives can be really tough. Plus, synchronizing busy calendars with class time for interactive sessions is really difficult!

When our network of educators asked us for help accessing, organizing, and delivering industry-integrated experiential learning in an asynchronous format, we delivered!

CapSource just launched OpenCases: a tool designed to make case-based learning easier and more exciting than ever before!

For starters, we have already published over 20+ original cases on a range of topics and different industry partners, with plans to add dozens of new cases each month throughout 2023! Our inaugural library includes real-world learning projects based on real industry challenges designed to engage, inspire, and prepare learners for their careers!

After seeing the power of our OpenCases tool, CapSource was approached by the Florida State University College of Social Work to work on designing a custom library of cases specially tailored to their curriculum. Now, social work educators at FSU will be able to integrate real-world social work cases into their curriculum using CapSource CONNECT Experiential Learning Management System!

Part of our roll-out strategy included a Canvas LMS Integration, including single sign-on access to the platform as well as a Canvas-embeded experience. Now, FSU faculty and students can access and work on our case library with ease!

Faculty can browse the library, select and customize cases, and onboard students to work independently or in teams depending on the course and context! Getting started and browsing OpenCases is always easy, and always free for educators.

Each FSU College of Social Work Case is developed by instructional designers who include an extensive and detail-rich narrative, a presenting situation, multiple scenarios, supplemental resources, and corresponding customizable assignments designed to help emerging social workers think critically and develop necessary career competencies. This collection of original, complex, multi-disciplinary cases is geared to prepare both graduate and undergraduate learners for real-world contexts and situations they’re likely to encounter in the field.

The FSU Social Work CONNECT OpenCase Library, including the first installment of 18 cases, will be available for purchase and use outside of Florida State University as a CapSource add-on as of Fall 2023!

Are you interested in inspiring your students with cases from our growing library? From now until August 1st, we’re offering use of any OpenCase for FREE to all educators and their students so you can explore the power of our new case-based learning technology for yourself.

If you have questions, want to explore publishing your library of cases on our platform, or need help integrating OpenCases into your existing course, schedule time to discuss!
